Caroline A. Olsen
Appellate Attorney
colsen@zbappeals.com

My appellate practice is grounded in more than a decade of experience litigating complex and novel legal issues in both federal and state courts.

I have participated in over 100 appeals and delivered oral argument in more than 40 cases. My work spans all levels of Utah’s state courts, several federal appellate courts, and the U.S. Supreme Court. I have handled appeals across a broad spectrum of subjects, including complex commercial disputes, medical malpractice, and cutting-edge questions of state and federal constitutional law.

Before joining Zimmerman Booher, I served as an Assistant Solicitor General in the Office of the New York Attorney General. In that role, I represented the State of New York in precedent-setting appeals and advised on high-stakes trials and investigations.

Beyond my appellate work, I regularly teach courses in legal writing and legal analysis.

I began my legal career as a law clerk to Judge Albert Diaz of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit and later practiced as a litigation associate at Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz.
